Return of the Dhow

This panel discussion looks to bring the ‘boutique cruisers’ in the Middle East out of the shadow of their supersized sisters, and explore the critical role they are playing within the region. Indeed, could it be possible that the dhow – that well loved Arabian trading vessel of days gone by, that conjures up images of an ancient and colourful world where trade flowed and business flourished – is in fact also the vessel of the future? Small in stature. Flexible by nature. Bespoke. Today, the dhow might be favoured by the leisure segment but, with the meetings and events industry on a continual search for something new, something different, something tailored – the dhow could just provide the solution.
