Description
The Senior Sales Manager will inherit an established client portfolio and assume responsibility for generating new advertising clients, mapping out and targeting new business opportunities to increase the client base and drive revenue to the magazine.
The position will require extensive relationship building skills and will involve liaising with individual clients and media agencies on a regular basis. The role demands an applicant who can demonstrate excellent communication and networking skills and an outgoing personality that can build a rapport with a wide variety of commercial partners.
Candidates will have extensive previous experience in the advertising sector in the UAE, including both print and online media, and will be competent at cross-selling to both platforms.
The Senior Sales Manager will be intelligent, thoughtful and quick-thinking, with a proven ability to listen to clients’ needs and adapt accordingly in one-on-one negotiation and presentation scenarios.
The applicant will be a well turned-out and experienced professional who is competent and confident enough to take on the challenge of developing new business and revenue streams while helping to grow the Destinations of the World News brand.
Experience
Five + years of selling media solutions in print/online/electronic media or events in the UAE and Internationally, preferably in the travel, hospitality and luxury lifestyle publishing sector
Proven ability to generate new revenue streams to tight deadlines
Experience with both print and online advertising sales
Familiarity and knowledge of media buying agencies in the UAE and the rest of the GCC
Self drivel and goal-oriented
Mature attitude to business and a real team player
Key skills
Excellent communication and networking skills and outgoing convivial personality
Possess a Bachelor and above from a recognized institution
Business Plan development and implementation
Ability to create, manage and maintain long-term relationships with clients
Should be able to analyze and anticipate individual key client needs
Self-driven ability to build and lead a team of sales personnel
Ability to think fast and negotiate in high-pressure one-on-one environments
