Haitham Mattar joined recently Hilton Worldwide as Regional Vice President of Sales for the Middle East & Africa, Eastern Europe, Turkey & Russia. With over 18 years of experience in the hospitality industry in various countries, Mattar is leading the company’s sales strategy for 83 existing hotels as well as new openings in these regions.

Based out of the Hilton Worldwide National Sales Office in Dubai Internet City, Mattar is responsible for setting sales strategies and targets, training the team to implement sales tactics, support sales across the hotels and reviewing performance with the aim of expanding Hilton Worldwide’s market share. He is leading the sales responsibility for all Hilton Worldwide brands, including existing Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts ,Conrad Hotels & Resorts, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, DoubleTree by Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn hotels as well as any new brand introductions.

Mattar, a Lebanese born American citizen, holds an MBA from the University of Liverpool in the UK and Bachelor in Business Administration from the University of Central Florida, USA.

Since he started his hospitably career in 1993, he assumed various roles from Operations Manager at the Courtyard by Marriott in Florida, USA to the Director of Sales and Marketing for InterContinental Dubai in 2000, where he oversaw sales, PR and marketing functions at all IHG properties in the Middle East and Africa region.

With his strong international background, Mattar conducts extensive research and studies global markets, in order to assess trends and customize products to suit the region’s sensibilities, and drive sales.

Mattar is married with two children and speaks Arabic and English.
