Holder of an MBA in Business administration, Ali Abu Monassar has more than 20 years of experience in tourism industry and has contributed immensely to the development of tourism in the region. Over the years he has sat on different government groups in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Oman and Yemen with a view to stimulating the growth of the leisure and MICE business of each.

As Executive Chairman Of Net Group, Ali Abu Monassar led the multi-service hospitality giant until 2009, responsible for turning it into the region’s largest private group for tourism-related services including the creation of the biggest private transportation fleet deployed in the UAE, Qatar and Oman.

Monassar has been a strategic partner for Reed Travel Exhibitions since 1994 for both ATM Dubai and GIBTM Abu Dhabi, was chairman of the ICCA Middle east & Africa Chapter until 2010 and is currently an active member of the internationally-recognized MPI Foundation Council for Europe Middle east & Africa (EMEA MPIF).

Since 2009 he has been the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Vision Destination Management, which is currently managing several important events in the region and was recently awarded the MSC Cruises ground handling contract for 2011/2012.

He also launched the boutique hotel brand Salam in 2006 .
