Vassilis Theocharides is the director of the Cyprus Tourism Organisation (CTO) in the Middle East since March 2005. He received an MBA from the CASS Business School , City University London .He also holds a bachelors of Hospitality from Johnson & Wales and Swiss Hotel School diploma from Les Roches Hotel Management School.
Vassilis was in charge of opening the CTO office in the Middle East , targeting key growth markets and making sure that the Middle Eastern travel professionals become well versed in what Cyprus offers as a tourism destination. From 2005 to 2011 there has been a 30% increase from the region, with the leading source markets being Lebanon and the UAE.
Prior joining the tourism board he worked in the hotel industry in Switzerland, London , the USA and Cyprus.
