Ben Jacobs is a versatile sports broadcaster who thrives in live environments. He makes regular appearances as a sports reporter on Dubai Eye, including as their lead football and tennis commentator. Ben is also the global voice at the Volvo Ocean Race 2011-2012. Prior to these roles, Ben was editor of Middle East Golfer. He also spent six years in national radio with the BBC. He read bulletins at BBC Radio 5 Live and Radio Four, as well as doing full-match commentaries on Chelsea at Smooth FM and weekly match reports for Final Score on BBC 1. After Graduating with Double First in English Language & Literature from Oxford University in 2004, Ben was trained at Sky News, before moving to BBC Northampton. In 2006, he switched to BBC 1’s flagship Politics Show, as their lead London Reporter, before being appointed sports editor at Reading 107 – Reading Football Club’s official radio station. Ben became freelance in March 2009 and – alongside his current roles – has since worked on Classic Gold Breakfast with Tony Blackburn, East Midlands Today, BBC WM, LBC, The Sun and Sports Media, covering a variety of events from Wimbledon and Silverstone…to Elephant Polo in Thailand!
