A graduate of the University of York, John has 28 years experience in the commercial airline business. He has held senior positions in a number of airlines including British Caledonian, British Airways, KLMuk and Buzz, specialising in revenue management and network development. John was instrumental in the decision to establish the low cost operator Buzz and in the selection of new routes. This included the strategy to open a number of secondary airports.
In 2003, John established JLS Consulting (www.jlsconsulting.co.uk), to offer commercial and strategic consultancy based on his wide industry experience. Clients include airports, airlines, industry partners and government bodies. He is also a regular presenter, chairman and moderator at a wide variety of industry conferences and events. He also provides expert commentary on air transport industry issues for global media including the BBC, Bloomberg, CNBC, CNN, Sky and Al Jazeera and for a number of written publications including the Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, the Chicago Tribune, the Guardian and the Daily Telegraph.
